Musicians – March 2013

Lyn Saga is a power-pop singer/songwriter whose catchy melodies, anthemic choruses, and energetic performances have drawn fans from coast to coast. Classically trained in music theory, jazz guitar, and classical guitar, Lyn began writing original music at an early age. Growing up, she spent every penny of her allowance collecting records of 90’s alternative rock artists like Weezer, Hole, Fountains of Wayne, Foo Fighters, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Inspired by these artists, she performed in several bands throughout high school, playing locally in the New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia area.
Shortly after, Lyn moved to Los Angeles to pursue music as a solo artist. She recorded rough acoustic recordings of her songs on her laptop computer and played open mics around Los Angeles. In late 2010, Lyn wrote and recorded a 5-song EP entitled ‘The Ball of String EP’ which was independently released in early 2011. In 2013, she released her first full-length album ‘Venice’.

The Furious Seasons’ latest release, My Analog Face, combines witty songwriting with spectacular interplay between the band members, creating an initially relaxed album whose subtleties grow over the course of the eleven tracks. The band’s predominant songwriter, David Steinhart (Guitar, Vocals), writes vocal tracks so melodious that only through repeated listens do the insightful meanings of his words reveal themselves. David’s brother, Jeff Steinhart (Bass); nephew, Nate Steinhart (Guitar); and Bob Gannon (Drums) show clear chemistry. Ray Chang (Violin) adds perfect inflections over the principle melody of each song. David has an extensive and impressive history, making 22 albums over the last 20 years.

With a shared passion for blues, psychedelia, folk, and above all else noise; friends, and long time collaborators, Freddie Dilworth, Freeman Land, and Ryan Pena formed The Barrelhousers in the temperate Southern California winter. Ever since then, The Barrelhousers have been tirelessly enchanting audiences around the tri-county area with their boundless charisma, wild performances, and energetic music. Over the course of their tenure, they have independently recorded, produced, and distributed three EP’s with compositions ranging anywhere from boisterious acoustic ballads to cacauphonous walls of sounds. Don’t expect to see the same show twice with The Barrelhousers, because they don’t even know what they’re going to do until they turn their equipment on.

Friends from scattered lands who tell stories together and long the simple life by the riverside. We believe in warm, welcoming, and honest music that brings people together. We also believe that once a member of The Riverside, always. We are family. Our dynamics are always changing, and we are okay with it, Shakes things up a bit! We do, however, like to keep things simple, but of course rockin’.
